ASTON, PENNSYLVANIA, USA – Custom engineered thermoplastics compounder TP Composites, Inc. announced that it has been successfully audited and re-certified by Global Registrars Inc. to the ISO 9001-2008 standard for Quality Management Systems and has also been accredited for another 3 year term to the ISO 17025-2005 standard for testing of plastic materials by Laboratory Accreditation Bureau. The testing laboratory has been ISO 17025 accredited since 1997. CEO Ron Taylor commented that having both ISO approvals has proven to be extremely beneficial in the markets where we participate. He went on to say, that in applications with especially close tolerances, being ISO 17025-2005 accredited has been important to OEM’s looking for assurance on long term quality.
Having a 17025-2005 laboratory has enabled us to increase our sales in medical and military applications, said Dr. Cliff Watkins, Sales, Marketing & Technology Director at the company. These 2 market segments rely heavily on materials which must accompanied by certified test data linked to ASTM-derived specifications, said Dr. Watkins, which our lab is able to provide. Both approvals were overseen by John Tillman, Manager, Quality Assurance who manages the QC testing and injection molding laboratories with a staff of 5 for the company.
